What NABL accreditation means

Accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) confirms that a laboratory follows recognised quality and technical standards while generating patient results.

It covers pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processes – from sample collection and handling, to method validation, equipment maintenance, result review and report release.

Laboratory quality systems

Internal quality control

Daily internal quality control is run on key analysers with defined rules for accepting or rejecting runs and troubleshooting before running patient samples and releasing results.

External quality assurance

The laboratory participates in external proficiency testing and inter-lab comparisons to monitor accuracy against peer laboratories.

Standardised reporting

Reports include biological reference intervals, flags and comments where appropriate, so that treating doctors can quickly interpret the results in context.
